OHWOW – You can almost guarantee that anytime the minds behind OHWOW organize a show that it’s going to be good, like really good. OHWOW is a contemporary art gallery, publisher, and a producer of special creative projects. They own galleries and retail spaces in New York, Miami, and LA. However, this post is only concerned with the galleries in Miami, and LA. Where they’re known to organize these stellar exhibitions with FREE booze, music, and oh yeah, art! New York: MoMA PS1′s The Warm Up

If you’re interested in some next level forward minded progressive shit, then the following might interest you. Every Saturday from now until Sept. 8th, the folks at MoMA PS1 host a crazy dance party in their huge courtyard. The Warm Up is an outdoor music series that has exploded in popularity in recent years. It’s built a reputation for introducing audiences to the best in experimental live music, sound, performance, and DJ’s. And, they not only experiment with the sounds but they mess around with the visuals too. This year the courtyard has been transformed into a temporary urban landscape (yeah, next level!). So again, if you’re looking for that NEW new, click here.

London Hand-Drawn map by Jenni Sparks

Here’s something for all of you design addicted travel junkies. It’s a hand-drawn map of London, created by artist Jenni Sparks for London-based art print producers Evermade. As you can see, the print replicates the streets, neighborhoods, and landmarks of the city, as well as highlighting lesser-known and more intricate details about the city. It took Jenni Sparks two months to complete this cool piece of work, so be nice and show your appreciation by purchasing one here.

Berlin: An Hour At The Bauhaus

I’m not much of a design addict. So when my boy H (that’s short for Harold also pictured below) invited me to tag along with him to Berlin’s Bauhaus museum, I initially wanted to say no. Staring at mockups and blueprints isn’t my idea of fun. But somehow, I ended up going anyway. If you’re not familiar with the Bauhaus (don’t worry I wasn’t either), the Bauhaus was a school that was founded by Walter Gropius. And the idea was to fuse the arts and design and simply make things look better, a lot better. Let’s just say without the Bauhuas Ikea would look a whole lot different.
My Review of Miami’s Art Basel
Back in December of last year I flew down to Miami to check out the Art Basel convention. And let me just say this: I didn’t think that I would enjoy Art Basel as much I did. I thought that I’d jet down to MIA for a few days, check out the convention, some galleries, and maybe hit a party or two.
George Condo @ PRISM
If you’re going to be in LA this upcoming weekend, and you’re looking to stimulate your visual palate, then you should head over to PRISM for the George Condo exhibit.
