I could people watch all day in London. In fact, it’s one of my favourite things to do every time I visit. Putting an outfit together is like an art over there. This week would have been a great week to do some people watching; seeing that it’s Men’s Fashion Week in London.

Toronto: Chop Up Shop

FACT: Most of us want what we can’t have, and most often what we want are the things that other’s have. Knowing that, a few individuals in Toronto are collaborating on a project that’s built on that premise. The project is called the ‘Chop Up Shop’, and it’s a market that allows you to shop from some of Toronto’s most creative closets and living rooms. The market opens it’s doors tomorrow (Sat Aug. 11th) from 3pm -9pm, so don’t sleep, because there should be a lot interesting finds.
Check the flyer above for all the details.
Mr Porter | What They Wore: London, Paris, & Milan
No, this video won’t necessarily help you with your travel plans. However, it’s always good to stay on top of what’s happening fashion wise in places like London, Paris, & Milan. In this video, Mr. Porter highlights the prints and patterns that were worn by men attending fashion shows in those aforementioned cities. Fellas, take note and enjoy!
London: All Vintage Everything!!
Vintage Festival – The popularity of all things vintage has skyrocketed in recent years. Some attribute the popularity to the recent recession, but the real reason is actually much simpler than that. There’s a reason why you can’t get more than five wears out of that shirt from H&M, but yet, your late Grandma’s blouse is still in mint condition. Things were made better back then. Knowing this, some smart mofo’s in London created a festival that pays homage to the timeless things from yesteryear.

Travel Essentials: Nike Roshe Run
The Nike Roshe Run are beautiful, and I want a pair (or maybe two or three). You see, as a person who pounds the pavement a lot when I travel. I’ve been hard pressed to find a shoe that’s stylish, and easy on the feet. But these kicks are perfect. I love the simplicity of the design. Less is more, and the simple look will work well with day-to-day outfits while travelling. And that’s huge, because it’ll save a lot of room in that luggage of mine.
But more importantly, the shoes are ultra-lightweight, comfortable, and relatively cheap, which means I’m going to have to purchase a couple of these. No seriously, have you seen all the colour schemes for these bad boys? They’re incredible. The streets and the blogospheres are already abuzz and the retailers (In the US) can’t keep the shoes on the shelves long enough. As soon as the colour schemes I want are available in Canada (that’s where I live by the way), I’m grabbing them. And I suggest you get yourself a pair too, because they won’t be on the shelves for long.

Fashion’s Night Out – NYC
It’s events like NYC’s Fashion’s Night Out that helps you understand why in a lot of people’s eyes New York is the number one city in the world. Fashion’s Night Out is a huge block party that celebrates commerce (I know how shallow that sounds, but trust me, it’s a blast).
