The Arts Basel show is the best time to hit the MIA. Period. No seriously, the city morphs from the predictable shit show that it is, into a cultural hotbed. The difference is literally night and day. And with the type of tourists the event attracts the sophistication of the city rises a notch. If you’re not familiar with the event, it’s basically an art convention that showcases contemporary art from all over the world.
But the convention is not even the best part, it’s all the events and parties that take place around it. This year artists like Nas, Theophilus London, Sharon Jones, and TV on The Radio are slated to perform at some of the events that are unofficially associated with the convention. I know I’m not giving you a lot of time to prepare, but if you’re an art lover I’d highly recommend that you go.
