This past weekend, I was in New York for what had to be some of the hottest days of my life. On one of those nights, my friend and I were rolling down north six-street in Brooklyn, when we stumbled on the scene in the pic above. There was a huge ass-line and showcased in white and black in that old school theater style were the words GRITS & BISCUITS.
We quickly put two and two together and figured out that it had to be an event with a southern theme.  I really wanted to check it out, because I thought the concept and the branding of the party was brilliant, but I couldn’t. The line, the heat, it was just way too much. And I was already sweating so much that it felt like my head had sprung a leak in it. So we ended up settling for another sweatbox down the street. But before I left, I asked a few people and I ended up finding out that the party dubbed ‘Grits & Biscuits’ is one of the craziest parties in NYC. Where they serve up nothing but southern jams all night long. So if you love southern food, and southern music then you more than likely enjoy this event.
