Brooklyn: People, Places, and Things.

New York |

I for damn sure haven’t been everywhere, but I can say this with the upmost confidence. No city has got nothing on Brooklyn. Now, I’m not saying that Brooklyn is the best. I’m pretty sure that tiny island (and several other cities) from across the Bridge would have a lot to say about that.

Travel Tips 101: 2 Is Always Better Than 1

Tips |

“F*#%! The machine just ate my card.” I’m pretty sure you know what I’m about to say. When travelling anything can happen so it’s always wise to bring a spare ATM card. Just in case you lose it or the machine eats your card unexpectedly.

NAME: Aneela

RESIDENCE: Toronto

AGE: 20′s

Q: Alright Aneela, I have four questions for you. What’s an ideal meeting spot in Toronto? What’s a good place to grab a bite to eat? What’s one thing that everyone should see before they leave Toronto? And where should someone go to party?

A:

Parties: Toronto is a one-off party town, we’re not really into weekly’s. So for parties I would recommend Main Ingredient (hip hop, urban music), Yes Yes Ya’ll (Hip hop, urban music, mostly gay and lesbian party but everybody goes), and anything that 88 Days of Fortune does.

To Eat: Check out Zocalo. It’s this cozy, quaint spot that has excellent brunch and excellent food period. But I love their brunch.

A good meeting spot: The Common (a coffee shop) is a good meeting spot.

To See: The Powerplant – It’s a contemporary art gallery. It’s really nice, and something I think everyone should see before they leave Toronto.

Lost In Tokyo by Mark Bramley

So rumour has it, the Japanese government is considering to pay for the flights of up to 10,000 bloggers, to visit the land of the rising sun. Since the earthquake in 2011, tourism has dropped by 60%, so to boost tourism the government is thinking of eating that cost so that bloggers and people with social media clout can blog about and document their experiences. If this is true, then I have to be one of them, I don’t think you understand just how much I’ve been dying to go out there. But until that happens, I’ll have to live vicariously through videos like this.

Miami: Purdy Lounge

Featured, Miami, Nightlife |

This place is a Godsend for anyone who wants to have fun in South Beach but doesn’t want to break their bank to do it. I came here on my last night (a Sunday night) in MIA, and I had a blast! The music was amazing. In the main room they played everything from dancehall to new and ol’ skool hip-hop, and in the back room they got a little more experimental with the sounds.

Montreal: B&M’s Rasin Bread French Toast

Featured, Food, Montreal |

B&M – There are three B&M locations in Montreal, but without fail I always end up at the location on St. Viatuer. The Waiters there need not hand me a menu because I already know what I want. I go there for the Raisin Bread French Toast so I can pile it with mixed berries and smother that shit with syrup. It’s simple, clean but it’s pretty damn delicious.

Francesco Paciocco spent a few months living in Milan and wanted to make a short film on the city that told a story about its people, places and essence.

“Here it is, a trip straight through the heart of Milan—a city that is as haunting as it is enveloping. Thank you to everybody that showed me around while I was there.”

NAME: Nick

RESIDENCE: Miami

AGE: Mid 20′s

Q: Alright Nick, I need you to fill me in on two things. Where do you go for great late night eats and what’s your favourite area in Miami?

A:

Favourite area – If I want heart and soul, I would stick to Wynwood. It has a great bar scene, great restaurants, and it’s a bit more low key. But if I want to whyle out, I’ll hit southbeach.

Late Night Eats – First place I would go to is the the Wynwood Kitchen & Bar. I love the art and overall atmosphere and you can’t go wrong with Latin American menu, plus they have an excellent beer selection. Oh, and I’m a huge fan of the food trucks in the Wynwood area, especially Ms Cheezious (great grilled cheeze sandwiches). And for eating in general I like Sakaya’s Kitchen (Asian Fusion).
